School of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Phayao, Joins the Sacred Water Drawing and Buddhist Chanting Ceremony for Phra That Chom Thong – Preserving Lanna Culture for Auspiciousness
On July 7, 2025, the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Phayao, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Pawinee Janwijit, Assistant Dean for Corporate Communication, along with faculty members and staff, participated in the "Sacred Water Drawing and Buddhist Chanting Ceremony for Phra That Chom Thong." The event took place at the designated area near Café Amazon balcony, within the University of Phayao.
This revered ceremony aims to uphold and preserve the cultural heritage of the Lanna tradition, which embodies deep respect and faith toward Phra That Chom Thong—considered the zodiac-year relic for those born in the Year of the Rat and a spiritual center for Lanna communities. The ceremony involved the symbolic drawing of sacred water from six important sources: the Ping, Wang, Yom, Nan, and Ing Rivers, as well as the Luang Reservoir located within the University of Phayao. These waters were used in the chanting and offering rituals to bathe the relic and wrap it in sacred cloth, invoking blessings and auspiciousness for all participants and the university community.
The ceremony was graciously presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supakorn Phongsabangpoe, President of the University of Phayao. University executives, faculty members, staff, and students from various faculties and departments also joined together to express their faith and unity in this spiritually and culturally significant event.
This meaningful activity reflects the identity of the University of Phayao as an institution that values the preservation of local cultural traditions alongside academic development. The ceremony not only brought spiritual strength and blessings to the attendees but also fostered goodwill and strengthened the relationship between the school and the broader university community.

คณะเกษตรศาสตร์และทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ ม.พะเยา ร่วมพิธีตักน้ำและเจริญพระพุทธมนต์น้ำสรงพระธาตุจอมทอง สืบสานวัฒนธรรมล้านนาเพื่อความเป็นสิริมงคล
เมื่อวันที่ 7 กรกฎาคม 2568 คณะเกษตรศาสตร์และทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ มหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา นำโดย ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ภาวินี จันทร์วิจิตร ผู้ช่วยคณบดีฝ่ายสื่อสารองค์กร พร้อมด้วยคณาจารย์และบุคลากร ร่วมเข้าพิธี “ตักน้ำและเจริญพระพุทธมนต์น้ำสรงพระธาตุจอมทอง” ณ บริเวณจุดนัดหมายระเบียงร้านกาแฟคาเฟ่อเมซอน ภายในมหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา
พิธีอันทรงคุณค่านี้จัดขึ้นโดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อสืบสานวัฒนธรรมประเพณีล้านนา อันเกี่ยวเนื่องกับความเคารพศรัทธาต่อพระธาตุจอมทอง ซึ่งเป็นพระธาตุประจำปีเกิดปีชวด และเป็นศูนย์รวมจิตใจของชาวล้านนา โดยกิจกรรมประกอบด้วยพิธีตักน้ำจากแหล่งน้ำศักดิ์สิทธิ์ทั้ง 6 แห่ง ได้แก่ แม่น้ำปิง แม่น้ำวัง แม่น้ำยม แม่น้ำน่าน แม่น้ำอิง และน้ำจากอ่างเก็บน้ำหลวงภายในมหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา นำมาประกอบพิธีเจริญพระพุทธมนต์และถวายผ้าห่มพระธาตุ เพื่อความเป็นสิริมงคลแก่ผู้เข้าร่วมพิธีและประชาคมมหาวิทยาลัย
ในการนี้ ได้รับเกียรติจาก รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.สุภกร พงศบางโพธิ์ อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา เป็นประธานในพิธี พร้อมด้วยคณะผู้บริหาร คณาจารย์ บุคลากร และนิสิตจากหลากหลายคณะและหน่วยงานภายในมหาวิทยาลัย ร่วมแสดงความศรัทธาและความสามัคคีผ่านกิจกรรมที่ส่งเสริมคุณค่าทางวัฒนธรรมและจิตวิญญาณ
พิธีตักน้ำและเจริญพระพุทธมนต์ในครั้งนี้ นับเป็นอีกหนึ่งกิจกรรมสำคัญที่สะท้อนอัตลักษณ์ของมหาวิทยาลัยพะเยาในฐานะสถาบันการศึกษาที่ให้ความสำคัญต่อการอนุรักษ์วัฒนธรรมท้องถิ่น ควบคู่ไปกับการพัฒนาทางวิชาการ โดยกิจกรรมดังกล่าวยังเสริมสร้างขวัญกำลังใจและความเป็นสิริมงคลให้กับผู้เข้าร่วม อีกทั้งยังเป็นการสร้างความสัมพันธ์อันดีระหว่างคณะและชุมชนมหาวิทยาลัยอีกด้วย
