UP School of Agriculture Engages with Dairy Cooperative of Thailand to Advance Sustainable Dairy Industry

At the University of Phayao, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chok Soratjakul and Dr. Khankachai Danmek welcomed more than 60 representatives from the Dairy Cooperative of Thailand Ltd. to a strategic meeting aimed at addressing challenges and exploring sustainable pathways for the Thai dairy industry.
Three Directions for Development: “Upstream–Midstream–Downstream”
The meeting outlined a systematic framework for advancing the dairy sector across the entire supply chain.
Upstream – Farmers and Dairy Farms
The foundation of fresh milk production lies in reducing production costs, especially feed, which accounts for 60–70% of total expenses. One key solution highlighted was the use of microbial fermentation to develop animal feed by utilizing agricultural by-products and residues from the food industry. This approach enhances nutritional value, improves digestibility, reduces dependence on imported raw materials, and strengthens the long-term viability of dairy farms.
Midstream – Raw Milk Collection Centers
With access to high-quality milk produced at lower costs, collection centers can manage pricing and quality standards more efficiently. This not only ensures fairness among cooperative members but also boosts consumer confidence in the cooperative system.
Downstream – Dairy Processing Plants
Processing plants benefit from a stable supply of quality raw milk at reasonable costs, enabling them to diversify into various dairy products. This enhances competitiveness in both domestic and international markets while fostering long-term industry sustainability.
Building Strength for the Future
This collaborative meeting marks an important step in connecting academic expertise, farmers, and cooperatives to create a holistic development model for the Thai dairy industry. The integrated approach—from production to processing and distribution—aims to secure higher product quality, stronger market standards, and sustainable growth for the future.

คณะเกษตรฯ ม.พะเยา หารือชุมนุมสหกรณ์โคนมแห่งประเทศไทย หาแนวทางยกระดับอุตสาหกรรมนมไทยอย่างยั่งยืน

ณ ห้องประชุมคณะเกษตรศาสตร์ฯ มหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา รศ.ดร.โชค โสรัจกุล และ ดร.ขรรค์ชัย ดั้นเมฆ ให้การต้อนรับคณะผู้แทนจาก ชุมนุมสหกรณ์โคนมแห่งประเทศไทย จำกัด กว่า 60 คน ในการประชุมหารือแนวทางการแก้ไขปัญหาและพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมนมไทยสู่ความยั่งยืน
3 ทิศทางการพัฒนา “ต้นน้ำ–กลางน้ำ–ปลายน้ำ”
การประชุมครั้งนี้ได้สะท้อนทิศทางการพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมนมไทยอย่างเป็นระบบ ครอบคลุมทุกมิติของห่วงโซ่การผลิต
ต้นน้ำ – เกษตรกรและฟาร์มโคนม
จุดเริ่มต้นสำคัญของการผลิตน้ำนมดิบ คือการลดต้นทุนการผลิต โดยเฉพาะค่าอาหารสัตว์ซึ่งคิดเป็นสัดส่วนกว่า 60–70% ของต้นทุนทั้งหมด หนึ่งในแนวทางที่ถูกหยิบยกคือ การใช้จุลินทรีย์หมัก เพื่อพัฒนาอาหารสัตว์ เช่น การหมักวัตถุดิบเหลือใช้ทางการเกษตรและผลพลอยได้จากอุตสาหกรรมอาหาร ซึ่งช่วยเพิ่มคุณค่าทางโภชนาการ ย่อยง่าย ลดการพึ่งพาวัตถุดิบนำเข้า และทำให้ฟาร์มโคนมอยู่รอดได้ในระยะยาว
กลางน้ำ – ศูนย์รวบรวมน้ำนมดิบ
เมื่อฟาร์มสามารถผลิตน้ำนมคุณภาพในต้นทุนที่ต่ำ ศูนย์รวบรวมก็สามารถบริหารจัดการด้านราคาและมาตรฐานได้ดียิ่งขึ้น ส่งผลให้เกิดความเป็นธรรมต่อสมาชิกในระบบสหกรณ์ และสร้างความเชื่อมั่นให้กับผู้บริโภค
ปลายน้ำ – โรงงานแปรรูปนม
โรงงานจะได้รับน้ำนมดิบที่มีคุณภาพสม่ำเสมอและมีต้นทุนที่เหมาะสม สามารถต่อยอดสู่ผลิตภัณฑ์นมหลากหลายชนิด รองรับความต้องการตลาดทั้งในและต่างประเทศ พร้อมเพิ่มศักยภาพการแข่งขันของอุตสาหกรรมไทยในเวทีโลก
มุ่งสร้างความเข้มแข็งสู่อนาคต
การประชุมครั้งนี้ถือเป็นก้าวสำคัญในการเชื่อมโยงเครือข่ายความร่วมมือระหว่างภาคการศึกษา เกษตรกร และสหกรณ์ เพื่อสร้างแนวทางการพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมนมไทยอย่างครบวงจร ตั้งแต่การผลิตจนถึงการจำหน่าย ตอบโจทย์ทั้งด้านคุณภาพ มาตรฐาน และความยั่งยืนในอนาคต
