School of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Phayao Hosts Special Lecture on Skills, Trends, and Future Opportunities in the Global Food Industry
On 15 June 2026, the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Phayao, organized a special lecture entitled “What the Western Food Industry is Looking for in Food Science Graduates: Skills, Trends and Future Opportunities.” The event was coordinated by Assistant Professor Dr. Sakunkhun Makkhun, Assistant Dean for Corporate Communication and International Affairs; Assistant Professor Dr. Trakul Promjak, Chair of the Master’s Program in Food Science and Food Safety Management; and Assistant Professor Dr. Yuparat Pothiset, Chair of the Undergraduate Program in Food Safety. The lecture was held at Meeting Room 1, Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Phayao.
The School was honored to welcome Dr. Avinash Kant, a distinguished expert in Flavour Science and Technology Innovation and an internationally recognized leader in food and beverage innovation, as the guest speaker. Dr. Kant delivered the lecture online from the United Kingdom.
The lecture aimed to provide students and academic staff with valuable insights into the expectations of the Western food industry, the essential competencies sought in food science graduates, and emerging trends and career opportunities within the global food sector. The session was designed to help participants enhance their professional development and prepare for future careers in an increasingly competitive international environment.
During the lecture, Dr. Kant shared his extensive experience in the international food and beverage industry and discussed the key skills required for success in the twenty-first century. He highlighted the importance of communication skills, critical thinking, teamwork in multicultural environments, lifelong learning, and adaptability to the rapidly evolving global food industry.
Participants included academic staff from the Food Science and Technology Program, Food Safety Program, and Agricultural Technology Program, as well as fourth-year undergraduate students in Food Science and Technology, graduate students in Food Science and Food Safety Management, and graduate students in Agricultural Science. Participants actively engaged in the lecture and exchanged ideas with the speaker through constructive discussions.
This event reflects the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources’ commitment to promoting international learning experiences and strengthening students’ competencies for success in a globalized workforce. Through activities such as this, the Faculty continues to enhance academic excellence and prepare graduates to meet the evolving demands of the food industry worldwide.

เมื่อวันจันทร์ที่ 15 มิถุนายน 2569 คณะเกษตรศาสตร์และทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ มหาวิทยาลัยพะเยาโดยมี ผศ.ดร.สกุลคุณ มากคุณ ผู้ช่วยคณบดีฝ่ายสื่อสารองค์กรและวิเทศสัมพันธ์ ผศ.ดร.ตระกูล พรหมจักร ประธานหลักสูตรปริญญาโท สาขาวิชาวิทยาศาสตร์การอาหารและการจัดการความปลอดภัยทางอาหาร ผศ.ดร. ยุพารัตน์ โพธิเศษ ประธานหลักสูตร ปริญญาตรี สาขาความปลอดภัยทางอาหาร เป็นผู้ดำเนินรายการจัดการบรรยายพิเศษในหัวข้อ “What the Western Food Industry is Looking for in Food Science Graduates: Skills, Trends and Future Opportunities” ณ ห้องประชุม Meeting 1 คณะเกษตรศาสตร์และทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ มหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา โดยได้รับเกียรติจาก Dr. Avinash Kant ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้าน Flavour Science and Technology Innovation และผู้นำด้านนวัตกรรมอุตสาหกรรมอาหารและเครื่องดื่มระดับนานาชาติ เป็นวิทยากรบรรยายผ่านระบบออนไลน์จากสหราชอาณาจักร
การบรรยายครั้งนี้จัดขึ้นเพื่อเปิดโอกาสให้นิสิตและคณาจารย์ได้รับฟังมุมมองจากผู้เชี่ยวชาญระดับนานาชาติเกี่ยวกับความต้องการของอุตสาหกรรมอาหารในประเทศตะวันตก ทักษะสำคัญที่บัณฑิตวิทยาศาสตร์อาหารควรมี ตลอดจนแนวโน้มและโอกาสทางอาชีพในอุตสาหกรรมอาหารระดับโลก เพื่อเตรียมความพร้อมในการพัฒนาศักยภาพและการก้าวสู่ตลาดแรงงานในอนาคต
ภายในงาน Dr. Avinash Kant ได้ถ่ายทอดประสบการณ์การทำงานในอุตสาหกรรมอาหารและเครื่องดื่มระดับนานาชาติ พร้อมแลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองเกี่ยวกับการพัฒนาทักษะที่จำเป็นสำหรับบัณฑิตในศตวรรษที่ 21 โดยเน้นย้ำถึงความสำคัญของทักษะด้านการสื่อสาร การคิดวิเคราะห์ การทำงานร่วมกับผู้อื่นในสภาพแวดล้อมที่มีความหลากหลายทางวัฒนธรรม การเรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิต และความสามารถในการปรับตัวให้ทันต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงของอุตสาหกรรมอาหารโลก
ผู้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมประกอบด้วยคณาจารย์จากสาขาวิชาวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีการอาหาร สาขาวิชาความปลอดภัยทางอาหาร และสาขาวิชาเทคโนโลยีการเกษตร รวมถึงนิสิตปริญญาตรีชั้นปีที่ 4 สาขาวิชาวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีการอาหาร นิสิตปริญญาโทสาขาวิชาวิทยาศาสตร์การอาหารและการจัดการความปลอดภัยทางอาหาร และสาขาวิทยาศาสตร์เกษตร ซึ่งให้ความสนใจเข้าร่วมรับฟังการบรรยายและแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นกับวิทยากรอย่างสร้างสรรค์
การจัดกิจกรรมในครั้งนี้สะท้อนถึงความมุ่งมั่นของคณะเกษตรศาสตร์และทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ มหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา ในการส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้จากผู้เชี่ยวชาญระดับนานาชาติ และพัฒนาศักยภาพของนิสิตให้มีความพร้อมต่อการทำงานในบริบทสากล สามารถประยุกต์ใช้ความรู้และทักษะเพื่อรองรับการเปลี่ยนแปลงของอุตสาหกรรมอาหารในอนาคตได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ
